12 April

A Chairde,

We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy in this anomalous situation.  Our thoughts are with those “essential workers" who selflessly head out daily to keep everything moving, as well as with those who are sheltered in place,  working from home, home schooling or just helping to flatten the curve!

We are, of course, adhering to all State and local rules regarding public gathering,  and have canceled or postponed all events planned for the foreseeable future, notably the Flag Raising and annual CT Irish Theater Troupe spring production.

The executive board has met via Zoom, and we will be doing membership meetings via this platform as well.  These will be closed meetings with password access.  The first will be later this month,  so prior to the meeting we will send you an invitation and you will need to RSVP to attend.

We are considering doing the annual plant sale, since this can be accomplished while  "socially distancing". and it would help a local business.  We should be sending out an order form soon.

While on the subject of helping local businesses, please keep in mind the local restaurants.  Our usual meeting site, The Playwright, is open daily for takeout. They are offering great specials, they'll fill your growlers to go and they have curbside pickup available. Give them a call @ 203.287.2401.

In the meantime,  take care of yourselves.  If you're quarantined with your loved ones,  give them a hug.   Reach out and give a virtual hug to those who can't get out.  Stay home,  stay safe,  flatten the curve and have a happy Easter.  Casca sona daoibh go leir.
